OUR REAL ESTATE COMPANY EXPLAINS ITP AND OTP

If you live in the Metro Atlanta area, you’ve probably heard locals discuss the difference between living OTP and ITP. Often, both sides engage in heated debates on why their side of the fence is better. What exactly are OTP and ITP?

A major highway for city commuters, Interstate 285 circles around the city and is referred to as “the perimeter.” ITP refers to the urban area inside the perimeter while OTP refers to the suburbs located outside of the perimeter. Today we would like to discuss the perks of living ITP.

Shorter Commute

Let’s face it; Atlanta traffic is a nightmare. Commuting from the suburbs is long, time-consuming and stressful. Major highways are filled with wannabe NASCAR drivers and road rageaholics. Anyone from out of town could easily have a panic attack driving on our highways, and rush hour generally starts around 4 and doesn’t seem to end. If you have to drive on I-285, traffic occurs during the entire day.

Perfect For Singles

If you are young and single, there’s no reason to live OTP unless you work outside the perimeter. Most likely, you don’t need a lot of space and you can access a variety of different night spots within minutes of your home when you live ITP. You’ll also be surrounded by plenty of coffee shops to grab a morning cup of joe before the workday.

Thriving Arts Scene

One of the biggest cities in the Southeast, Atlanta contains a thriving art and music scene. Whether you are into hip hop or straight up rock n’ roll, plenty of clubs and bars feature nightly performances with local acts.

Film Scene

Over the past few years, hordes of film and TV productions have moved to Atlanta because of the tax incentives offered to filmmakers. Shows such as “Stranger Things” and “The Walking Dead” are filmed here. When going out and about your day, you may run into celebrities without even knowing it.

With the burgeoning film scene comes more jobs. Film sets need extras, makeup artists, crew members, set builders and more. If you can break into the union, you could set yourself up for a high-paying career with benefits.

The Food

If you are a foodie, Atlanta has everything you could possibly desire inside the perimeter. Buford Highway features a variety of different international restaurants spanning a multitude of different countries.Quite honestly, Atlanta features several wonderful barbecue establishments, which includes Daddy D’s. Health food nuts can find all kinds of healthy eating spots without sacrificing taste. There’s really something for everyone foodwise in Atlanta.

Diversity

One of the best things about Atlanta is its diversity. People from all over the country move to Atlanta for work opportunities. Nearby Clarkston, which is also ITP, includes a high immigrant population of people from all over the world. We also have a large LGBTQ community all over the city.

At Team Sterling, we love Atlanta and we can help you buy a home inside the perimeter so you can enjoy your urban lifestyle. We have extensive experience working in the Atlanta area, so contact our real estate company today.
