The Story of 7865 Nesbit Ferry Road Sandy Springs Atlanta.

Originally constructed in 1854, the modest Piedmont Plains style farmhouse was the property of Confederate Colonel Charles Newton Woodall. The next century plus would see the home gussied up during the Victorian era, worn down by the Great Depression, covered up in newfangled aluminum siding, and abandoned to neglect by the time the current owners purchased it in 1980 as a home for their young family and extensive collection of antiques.

Upon arrival at the carefully maintained buttery yellow farmhouse surrounded by mature trees, immaculate gardens, and carefully laid walkways, it’s hard to imagine the uninhabitable pre-Civil War ramshackle building that once stood at the end of a long gravel road in the far reaches of North Fulton County almost 40 years ago. These modern homesteaders had a vision to return this gem to the simple elegance of a bygone era and they had the mettle to achieve it.

Join us as we take a guided tour exploring the rare history of this remarkable homestead.
